Education Minister thanks teachers for being professional
With a reported overwhelming number of teachers showing up for National Report Card Day yesterday, despite instructions to do otherwise, Minister of Education Alfred Sears thanked the educators for being the professionals they are."I want to thank teachers for being the professionals they are and to commend them for showing the maturity and professionalism that is expected from teachers," he said last evening in an interview with The Freeport News.
In fact, he said the Bahamas Union of Teachers (BUT)'s threat had very little effect on the educational system.
The 3,500 teachers have been put on red alert.
This comes after 12 hours of talks last week Wednesday that went well into the morning on Thursday.
Talks resumed last Friday at 3:00 p.m.
