Businessman Wants To Evict Anna Nicole Smith

(November 2, 2006)—The sad saga of reality TV star Anna Nicole Smith took another turn Thursday as a businessman involved in a property dispute with the former Mexia resident said he wants her evicted from the mansion in which she has been living in the Bahamas.

Smith has been in seclusion at a mansion in the Bahamas since the September death of her 20-year-old son, David, just days after gave birth to a daughter who's at the center of a legal fight over paternity.

Earlier this week she was readmitted to the hospital with what an attorney said was a mild case of pneumonia.

South Carolina developer Ben Thompson says he's a former boyfriend of Smith, they met about 18 months ago and had a "short relationship."

Thompson told reporters in Nassau that he lent Smith money to buy the house for nearly $1 million.

Young players test skills, have fun against All Star team in ...

BOYNTON BEACH — While living in the Bahamas for five years, Ray Catena turned his Junior Baseball League of Nassau team into a national power, winning three national championships. Catena returned to the Bahamas this past weekend to let his new team play his old team.

The Hammertime Pirates 12-and-under competed against a team of 11- and 12-year-old All Stars who are the reigning national champions for their age group. Catena, who has been coaching the Pirates since December, said he hoped the trip would provide the Pirates players with an opportunity to make new friends and experience how baseball is played in other countries.

Girls andboys bond in the Bahamas

Put a gaggle of gals together, and it automatically becomes a Lifetime Network special. Send a bunch of guys off on their own, and you get Animal House. Just clichs, right? We sent two groups to the Bahamas to find out.

A Bahama Pajama Party
As soon as Margo stepped through the Grapevine's white-picket fence, I knew I'd picked a winner. The antique clapboard cottage, a charmer in teal and white, practically reached out and gave her a hug.

"It's perfect, just perfect," she said, walking into the cozy living room where islandy artwork and tropical furnishings stood out against freshly painted white floors and walls. "The colors," she said, touching the tropical-blue sofa patterned with bits of staghorn coral. "The view," she sighed as she stopped at the front door, looking out over the blue-green waters of Harbour Island.

Playmate Anna still in hospital

Nassau, Bahamas - Anna Nicole Smith remained hospitalised on Friday, said her attorney, as she had had fluid drained from a partially collapsed lung while recovering from pneumonia.

"She's doing a lot better, but when you would have a collapsed lung, they would keep you in," attorney Wayne Munroe told The Associated Press.

The former Playboy playmate checked into Doctors Hospital on Monday.

It is the same facility where she gave birth to a daughter on September 7, and where her son died while visiting her three days later.

Munroe said his client was not surprised by a South Carolina developer's assertion on Thursday that he had loaned her money for the gated, waterfront mansion where she has been living.

G Ben Thompson told reporters in Nassau, Bahamas, that he wanted to evict Smith because she had not honoured an agreement to pay the mortgage.
