Liquor stores that engage in the sale of alcohol to minors were urged on Wednesday to cease and desist from such practices.While giving his contribution Wednesday on a Bill for an Act to provide for the care and protection of children, Lucaya Member of Parliament, Neko Grant, claimed that because many establishments are selling liquor to minors - under the age of 18 - a concerted effort is needed by all Bahamians to address the problem. He advised more local establishments to get in the habit of carding minors before liquor is sold. The outspoken MP also suggested that a campaign should be launched to prevent the sale of liquor to minors.
The sale of liquor to minors is only one of a number of issues that the government will attempt to address in the proposed Bill for an Act to provide for the care and protection of children.
Women ready to spend another holiday break in the sun

Don't feel bad for the Terps though; they still get a couple of days off in the sun to enjoy a catamaran boat ride and snorkeling in the Bahamas.
"Obviously in the Bahamas you get some great scenery and relaxing times as well," coach Brenda Frese said. "It's a great balance of both [vacation and work]. Once we start playing games Friday and Saturday, we're all business. But definitely, it's a low key approach to enjoy the time we're out there."
