Lady Caribs invaded NYC They managed to win both of their games in New York

The College/University of The Bahamas (COB) Lady Caribs returned home from New York City early this week after successfully biting chunks out of two teams in 'The Big Apple'. While the men lost both of their exhibition basketball games against Poly and City Tech, the Lady Caribs helped COB earn international respect.

"We were a little bit disappointed that we didn't pick up at least one win in Miami so we went to New York with a chip on our shoulders, and we had a point to prove," said Lady Caribs' Head Coach Dr. Linda Davis. During the previous weekend, both of COB's basketball teams played in South Florida, which was also the very first time the college has ever participated in a collegiate athletic event.

During the interview at her office on the COB campus yesterday, Coach Davis added that, "the teams that we played in New York were NCAA Division III.

Hardbeatnews, MIAMI, FL, Mon. Oct. 30, 2006: Chalk International Airlines is set to resume flights to the Bahamas early next month, almost a year after one of its seaplanes crashed and killed 20 people off Miami Beach on Dec. 19, 2005.

Airline officials have received U.S. government approval to resume flying on Nov. 9 from Fort Lauderdale to Bimini and Nassau.

Passengers will be flown in on aircrafts leased from Big Sky Airlines of Billings of Montana. Company officials also say they hope to increase flights from other destinations in the Bahamas.

The announcement of the resumption of flights by Chalk comes even though the National Transportation Safety Board has not yet released its final report on the crash and as investigations continue into determining whether or not Chalks Grumman G-73T Turbo Mallard had received adequate inspections and maintenance.

Island Vacation At Florida Keys

Florida Keys offer some of the most wonderful vacation stops in the world. This is the long stretch of land south of the mainland. It is comprised of five groups of islands known as Key Largo, Marathona, Lower Keys, Key West, and Islamorada.

The first area you reach is Key Largo. This is not very far from Miami, about one hundred and sixty miles. At once, you notice the change in atmosphere from the hustle and bustle of a city to a more laid back air.

People may think that places like Hawaii or Bahamas are the ultimate destinations for vacations but that is not true. In the Florida Keys you can do and see whatever you want. There are isolated beaches for those who want a more private time alone, in the form of Islamorada or Marathon Island and there is an active night life for the more socially inclined.
